Recently, we were asked to create a birthday cake for a very special little girl called Sophie who was turning 7.
As Carrot Cake is her favourite flavour, and she loves cupcakes, we decided to combine the two and create a Giant Carrot Cake Cupcake!
Made in two sections, the top and the base were both Carrot Cake sponge. A small amount of Cream Cheese Frosting was used to build the Giant Cupcake. Then the top was covered in yet more Cream Cheese Frosting.
To finish it off, a number of ‘carrots’ were created by hand using ready to roll icing in orange and green. These were then placed around the top of the cake, on top of the Cream Cheese Frosting.
The finished cake was then put on a pre-ices cake board, with orange ribbon round the edge. Sophie’s name was then added on the board to give it a special, personal touch.
